Prayer for my husband to love me once again
(a prayer asking God for love to return to a marriage when a husband’s affections have grown cold)

Dear Father,

The silence has grown between us, the silence of weary hearts, a nothing left to say sound, where once there was such a spark. So come O Lord, O Spirit come and lift my heart to try, to find new words, new passion, new rhythm. Within my life, come and re-light me, help me to live and awaken his heart.

The vision has faded, dulled by regret, the dust of confusion and doubt. There’s nothing upon our horizons, our eyes are cast down, no longer fixed upon your heart. So come O Lord, O Spirit come and lift our eyes to see, to watch a great adventure open up before us, to find new hopes and dreams. Come and awaken us, help us to live, may we rise up so our beauty is seen.

Our love has become crushed, worn and threadbare. I’ve neglected to mend, renew and to cleanse this devotion that once sparkled with joy. So come O Lord, O Spirit come and uncover this gem, help us to see the beauty again of the “us” that was crafted by heavens command. Come and remind us of the vows that were made, help us to re-find the bride and the groom again.

I ask for your Spirit to move in my heart, that I might now choose to take hold of our precious friendship, that I’ll start to light up, awake and rise up, so that my husband will awake to his love.
