Prayer for restoration of a relationship

O Lord,

I feel so sad that this relationship has failed. Help me to have the courage to love again. I trust that as I walk with you, forgiveness will flow in my life.

Your grace is like a river. May that river flow between us and cause restoration in our friendship.

The restoring love of God

One of the most popular bible passages for marriage services is 1 Corinthians 13 - the Apostle Paul's hymn to love. In this film we hear a creative reading of this chapter, set within music and song:-

Prayer for troubled marriage

Dear Lord,

I promised that I would always love, honour, cherish and respect when I married. Sometimes it is hard to keep these promises.

Please reignite our love where it has faded.
Please help us to communicate our needs and understand one another.
Please help us to remember good times and to cherish new times together.
Please help us to forgive, and also to respect and enjoy our differences.

You are part of our vision, you know us both deeply, only you understand the problems we face.
So we trust in you to restore our love. We choose to live in your promises, to take each day and transform it into a beautiful picture, an intimate friendship, and a testament to your love through us.

"I trust that as I walk with you, forgiveness will flow in my life"

"The younger son got up and started back to his father. But when he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt sorry for him. He ran to his son and hugged and kissed him."

(Luke 15:20, CEV, excerpt from the Parable of the Lost Son - Luke 15:11-32)

"After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before."
